Durability
Porcelain is a durable material that withstands both time and weather, making the signs suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The design
The sign's design is simple and aesthetic. It has a slightly curved surface that reduces reflections and always ensures that the text appears clear and easy to read.
Our history
Ceramitag is, in addition to being functional and decorative, a tribute to Danish design heritage and Erik Magnussen's groundbreaking work. EM combined tradition and innovation throughout his impressive career as a designer.
Ceramitag was originally designed in the 1970s as part of EM's vision to rethink the use of porcelain, precisely when the demand for traditional porcelain service was declining.
The really great thing about Ceramitag is not just the history, the slightly curved surface that reduces reflections, the durability or the simple, well-thought-out mounting that fits all surfaces - it is the fact that the sign is only truly complete when your or yours' name is on it and the final firing has been carried out.
In a way, it makes you a co-creator of an iconic design, where your history merges with the proud Danish design heritage.

Erik Magnussen
– an industrial ceramist. (1940-2014)
Erik Magnussen was a ceramist, educated at the Danish School of Design. As a young man he worked with art – including graphics and sculpture, but his interest in industrial production led him to industrial design. He saw his ceramic background as ideal for all kinds of industrial design. He therefore took on assignments within an unusually wide range, including tabletops, furniture, lamps, medical equipment and accessories in several different materials such as ceramics, porcelain, plastic, steel, aluminium, pewter, wood and leather.
Several of Erik Magnussen's works for, among others, Bing & Grøndahl and Stelton have been awarded design prizes, and as a very young man he was honored with the Ole Haslunds Legat and the Lunning Prize – later the Møbelprisen, Designer of the Year and the Bindesbøll Medal.

Ceramitag has been continued by Morten Engelbrecht, a close friend of Erik Magnussen and a great admirer of his designs. Out of respect for Erik and his work, Morten has given Ceramitag new life so that the iconic signs can adorn Danish homes and solve practical challenges in a country with changing weather like Denmark.
